About Sue
Greetings, art enthusiast, fellow artist or friend! My name is Mae Sue Francis and I'm a creative soul with a rich artistic journey that began in the inspiring presence of my mother—a gifted oil painter. Raised in a home adorned with paintings in every room, my childhood was steeped in the desire to create beautiful things, much like the artistic magic my mother wove.
My artistic odyssey commenced early, wielding graphites and alcohol-based markers. As I honed my skills, water-based paints became my canvas companions. High school introduced me to the world of performing arts—acting, singing, and improvisation—a trifecta that bestowed upon me the ability to conjure creative solutions on the spot.
In the later years, my exploration expanded into digital realms. Photography, graphic design, and digital illustrations became new facets of my artistic expression. As the designated "art kid," I embraced challenges and welcomed the opportunity to infuse creativity into every endeavor.
College ushered me into the captivating world of 3D animation, where I found my niche in Nuke compositing—a skill that adds depth and dimension to my artistic repertoire. Today, I proudly wear the title of an artist, embracing a diverse range of creative endeavors. I am the embodiment of a creative melting pot, putting 130% into everything I undertake.
A Canvas of Versatility:
My creative toolbox includes acrylic mediums, from traditional paint to aerosol bombs and markers. This eclectic mix mirrors my passion for pushing the boundaries of artistic expression.
Dedication and Hibernation:
I find solace in the solitude of my art cave, particularly during winter. Like a hermit, come November, I close the door, dedicating months to hibernation and immersive painting, emerging only when the canvas has absorbed my creative essence.
Beyond the Brush:
Summers see me donning the hat of a historical interpreter—a role that allows me to step outside, engage in conversations, and express myself through costumes, makeup, and theatre.
My creativity knows no bounds, and my ability to think outside the box makes me a valuable addition to any artistic endeavor. Join me on this vibrant journey through the kaleidoscope of my artistic universe, where every stroke tells a story, and every creation is a piece of my soul.
PS: I have no good picture of me and my favorite painter. The closest I have is this, and I blame the jet-lag because; I'm sobbing. I promise this was an amazing day.
